Aditya is a product and operations oriented entrepreneur. Prior to Augmate, he has spent several years at General Electric, during which he has won numerous awards spanning the fields of engineering, product, and operations. While at GE, Aditya has worked on products including: smart grid infrastructure, gas turbine diagnostics and prognostics, oil & gas pipeline separation, transportation, and measurement, and Industrial Internet (IoT) transportation analytics – focused on maintenance, outage prediction, and supply chain optimization. Aditya has studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Aditya is also passionate in the education space, a passion he pursues through his STEM focused non-profit.

“Augmating” the workforce using smart glasses

What do mechanics, field workers and vets all have in common? They have to follow a set of procedures which require their hands in order to do their job. Imagine looking through the lens of a pair of smart glasses to be instructed on how to fix a specific mechanical issue in a car, get hands-free step-by-step instructions on how to lay concrete along with setting a timer or scan a dog’s ID tag to be provided valuable information as a vet on medicine to administer and instructions on how to do this effectively – all of these examples are scenarios Augmate is making possible.

One burgeoning sector for smart glasses is enterprise. The workforce is ripe for disruption and the use of this hands-free technology to augment our capacity to perform on the job and keep us safe is vast. The app aims to increase productivity and accuracy by using QR codes and a hands-free, audio guide or order picking.

Pete is the Chief Executive Officer at Augmate Corporation. He oversees custom government and private company solutions that utilize digital eyewear. Essentially, Augmate provides visual efficiency tools for government, businesses, and consumers by merging the digital and physical worlds using eye-wear, wearable computers, and mobile devices. Pete’s idea for Augmate was to put digital information, imagery, and applications where you need it and expect it – on top of physical world objects thus making a clickable world. By managing and framing information unobtrusively, in a person’s field of view, his company creates an immersive Internet experience that enhances the way we work and live.

Before, Augmate, Pete was a Program Director at IBM, he managed Digital Media Distribution products and Content Management Systems at IBM’s Los Angeles and Silicon Valley Labs. In other roles, he managed IBM’s PartnerWorld Program containing 115,000 Business Partners, ran Operations and Executive Relations for ibm.com and has been a Project Management Professional in IBM Global Services.
Pete graduated at the top of his class (presidential scholar) at Clarkson University’s engineering school, he also graduated from the JFK Special Warfare School (Special Forces) in the military, and has been a Elected Lawmaker (Legislator) & Policy Creator who has passed over one thousand laws in Dutchess County, New York.
