Cuong Tran is a scientist at Honda Research Institute in Mountain View, California. His current research is focused on advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) in the automotive domain. In the past few years at Honda, he has been working on developing augmented reality applications for drivers utilizing 3D Heads Up Display (HUD) prototypes. He is interested in using a combined user-centered design and advanced technology research approach. Cuong received the MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science in 2008 and 2012, respectively, from University of California at San Diego (UCSD), specializing in computer vision, vision-based human gesture analysis, and advanced driver assistance systems. He was a member of the Computer Vision and Robotics Research Laboratory at UCSD.

Victor Ng-Thow-Hing

Victor Ng-Thow-Hing is a principal scientist at the Honda Research Institute USA in Mountain View, CA. Previous research investigated intelligent system architectures, human-robot interaction with humanoid robots and gesture generation, visual attention modeling and proxemics phenomena. He is currently investigating advanced human-machine interfaces for future smart cars with an emphasis on multi-modal interaction with drivers.
