Greg Howes is the CEO of IDEAbuilder (Interactive Design, Engineering and Architecture), a building company in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. With more than 15 years of experience as the owner of a residential building company and an additional 10 years of experience at information technology companies, including his own funded startup, Greg has extensive experience in both industries and is able to provide a cross-domain perspective on technology integration and innovative building systems for design, fabrication/manufacturing, and construction.

IDEAbuilder uses and develops mixed reality solutions to make the design-build process more efficient. Application development is done in collaboration with a network of partners in North America and Europe supporting the standards most widely used in the design and fabrication industries as well as the rapidly evolving immersive web. In addition to enabling efficient construction, these technologies have proven to be beneficial for real-time collaborative design as well as the digital simulation of individual buildings and entire communities and are also being used for web-based interactive training, education, and marketing applications.

Damon Hernandez

Damon Hernandez works in many areas of the Web3D Industry and has been active in virtual environments and the 3D web open standards for over eight years now. He is acting director and liaison of a student initiated organization with the Web3D Consortium, where he also works with the Consortium’s global outreach and education initiatives. Formerly he worked with the 3D web company MediaMachines and then the virtual world company Vivaty. He is currently working with IDEAbuilder, a company that uses mixed reality technologies and robotic manufacturing to build homes more “green” and efficiently. Damon is actively involved with the 3D web’s convergence with other Metaverse technologies. With a passion for education and immersive tech, he has built several web3D learning applications and is leading dozens of 3D web and mixed reality research projects in multiple domains.
