		<description><![CDATA[Paul Sells is the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the X11 Department at Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS). His current responsibility is to improve the quality and efficiency of ship fitting operations at NNS, a work force of over 1200 ship fitters.  Paul’s professional interests are to simplify management and execution of the world&#8217;s most complicated projects in Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering at NNS.  Paul sees integrated information technology as a powerful tool set to accomplish this objective.   Paul has been working with Augmented Reality applications in Defense and Manufacturing since 2007. Prior to his current role, he was a manufacturing engineer responsible for process improvement and applied research projects within Structural Fabrication and Assembly.  Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide range of people, from hourly associates to company executives and has focused his time on improving project management and improving the efficacy of management and control processes.  Paul has been with Newport News Shipbuilding for 7 years.  Prior to coming to NNS, he was the process engineer for a small biotech start-up in Atlanta, and has also owned a small business.  Paul was an enlisted sailor serving on the flight deck of USS Carl Vinson and spent four years as a Navy Midshipman prior to an illness that prevented his commissioning.  Paul has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.  Paul lives with his wife, Jenna, and their daughter Olivia live in Norfolk, VA.]]></description>
