William Denton

William Denton has been the web librarian at York University in Toronto, Canada since 2007. His work at York centres on the library’s web presence: what the site looks like, what the library offers over the web, how people use it, and how other librarians can do more anywhere on the web. William studied at the University of Toronto, where we completed his Master of Information Studies in 2005. Prior to that, he worked as a web developer and programmer for a decade. Soulaiman drives the direction of Atheer in addition to coding and developing the platform. His expertise is in the development and application of wearable technology as wearable displays become mainstream and devices become interconnected with the emergence of the Internet of Things. His previous work includes designing cancer tests and treatments as well as creating models for robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles. Cary Bran serves as the Senior Director of Innovation and New Ventures at Plantronics. Cary’s background includes more than fifteen years of experience developing enterprise collaboration and communications software solutions. Prior to joining Plantronics, Cary was at Cisco Systems for more than a decade, where he held positions in software architecture, business development and technical strategy. Giovanni Landi

Giovanni Landi

AR/VR solutions architect, he designs and develops applications based on AR, VR and Realtime 3d. As a consultant he collaborated with scientific institutions (University of Genoa, Festival della Scienza di Genova). After graduating in Oceanography from the University of Genoa he founded UBICA srl, an academic SpinOff aimed at the creation of Realtime 3d data visualization tools (mainly 3d interactive marine cartography). He developed VR/AR applications for Public Institutions as Biblioteca Universitaria di Genova (Ministero dei Beni Culturali), University of Genoa, CANTON DE GENEVE, etc. and for private clients like Bristol-Myers Squibb(Medical), Gold(StreetWear), SIME(Engineering), Darts, ETT. As part of the Alcotra-Innovation Project he participated to joint experimentations exploring the applications of AR/VR in museum environments. He is the winner of the 2013 Auggie Award, in the Best Augmented Reality Marketing Campaign category, for the Gold(StreetWear) brand’s AR campaign. He won the 2013 edition of the Startup Weekend in Genoa with the LYSO project. He has been invited to present his AR works during the “3D-Stadtmodelle” Workshop hosted by the DGfK (German Cartographic Society e.V.) and during the “Mobile Geospatial Augmented Reality” (GAR) Workshop hosted by the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya, in Barcelona during the 2013 MWC. He was a speaker at the 2014 Augmented World Expo, presenting his work about AR and Cultural Heritage.
