FashionWare: High Tech Meets High Fashion on the Catwalk at AWE 2014

Hosted by Living in Digital Times at Augmented World Expo 2014: FashionWare Runway Show Features the Latest in Design, Smart Fabrics, Technologies and Accessories Glasses, wristware, environmentally responsive clothing and new fabrics will be showcased as Living in Digital Times presents its well-known FashionWare runway show for the first time at Augmented World Expo 2014. The live show and cocktail party will take place on May 28th at 5:30p.m. PT at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California. Earlier in the afternoon, as part of the conference sessions, there will be an expert panel: High Tech Meets High Fashion, discussing trends in the wearable tech category at 1:30p.m. PT in the Main Theater. “The building blocks for a smart fashion revolution are coming together as we speak,” said Robin Raskin, founder of Living in Digital Times. “Sensors, low energy Bluetooth and mobile devices, as well as new high tech fabrics will recreate what it means to combine style and function. The designers we’re showcasing during FashionWare at Augmented World Expo are world-class fashion pioneers.” “At Augmented World Expo, our conference looks at the human body as a platform for augmenting reality and making the world more interactive. Great design and wearability will determine success,” said Ori Inbar, Co-Founder and CEO of AugmentedReality.ORG. “We’re thrilled that we’ve gone beyond the ‘let’s make it work’ phase to the point where we’re saying ‘let’s make it beautiful.’” Sweaters that change color with your mood, clothing brought to life by its environmental factors like noise, or a bracelet that monitors your sun exposure are just a few examples of the pieces that will be taking the runway. A partial list of designers and technologies featured, will include: Artists Kristin Neidlinger, founder of SENSOREE, is an experience designer who creates bio-responsive fashions to enhance awareness Amy Winters, also known as Rainbow Winters, is a new media artist and fashion designer whose work uses environmental stimuli like music or water to transform her outfits. Valérie Lamontagne, owner & designer at 3lectromode, is a wearable electronics creator who combines dance and theatre in her environmental pieces. Angela Dale, has been designing and fabricating costumes and props for over 25 years, having created a wide variety of the weird and wonderful. Wearables Drumpants, a wearable and fully customizable on-the-go musical instrument. JUNE UV Bracelet, from Neatmo, is a bracelet that measures sun intensity in real time and monitors your total daily sun exposure. Narrative Clip is a tiny, automatic camera and app that gives you a searchable and shareable photographic memory. From concept design to final product at retail, all aspects of the next generation of wearable tech will be the topic during the High Tech Meets High Fashion Expert Panel, moderated by Robin Raskin. Syuzi Pakhchyan, an experienced designer whose work investigates the intersection between code, cloth and culture.
