Raju Venkataramana is a Senior Researcher for Mobile Solutions in the Connected Experience Labs at GE Global Research. Raju’s area of specialization is in Mobility and High Performance Embedded Computing. At GE, he is focusing his efforts on building mobility aware, context sensitive collaborative experiences for GE managed workforces across a cross section of GE business units. More recently, he has been working on building prototypes that augment a field engineer’s world with data and analytics from the Industrial Internet using wearable devices. Before joining GE in 2012, Raju was a senior software engineer at CAE Healthcare and prior to that a senior systems engineer at Honeywell Space Systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of South Florida....

Frederik Windey is a senior software engineer in the user experience (UX) team at 3D vision and gesture recognition specialist: SoftKinetic. After working for five years as a teacher in entertainment software development, Frederik spent an additional six years working in the fields of Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, digital signage, 3D scanning, motion control and gesture recognition. Frederik is considered a Unity development specialist and has created a wide variety of demos and proof-of-concepts on PC, console and mobile platforms as well as emerging technologies such as the Oculus Rift and in-car gesture systems. Today, the five finalists for the coveted Auggie Award for Best Startup were announced. The award recognizes the most innovative and exciting startup in the fields of Augmented Reality, Wearable Tech, or Internet of Things. The Startup Launchpad Session will be moderated by AWE Partner Ubergizmo‘s founder Eliane Fiolet on May 29th at 1:30-2:30 pm. The finalists are: Jean-Michel Fournier (CEO, Bitgym). Bitgym transform cardio-exercise into an exciting & addictive experience. Dima Kislovskiy (CEO, Augary)  Augary delivers in-car software solutions which plug directly into smartphone apps and in-vehicle systems. Anush Elangovan (CEO, Nod Labs) – Nod Labs, believes technology should be unobtrusive and magical.  Ryan Rogowski (CEO, Waygo).
