Martin Lechner co-developed the first version of the Wikitude World Browser on the Android platform, and started building up the team behind the Wikitude technology soon after. He is now the CTO of Wikitude, part of the company management team and manages a team of 20+ developers. In addition to his day-to-day job at Wikitude, he is chairing the Augmented Reality Markup Language (ARML) 2.0 Standards Working Group within the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). ARML 2.0 has recently been published as an official OGC Candidate Standard for describing and interacting with AR scenes. Martin initiated and managed the group throughout the entire process, comprising more than 50 institutions and individuals, including several universities and multi-national companies. Martin studied both Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Salzburg, Austria and the Victoria University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. He is holding a PhD in Applied Computer Sciences and an Master in Mathematics. Before joining Wikitude, he was working as a software engineer for Sony DADC.
