Deborah R. Lemon is a tenured faculty member at Ohlone College in Fremont, California where she teaches language in tiered hybrid/blended/fully online classes, and courses on Social Media. She developed and teaches Building Online Community with Social Media for the California @One project. Deborah has been teaching her online classes on social media platforms since 2010 (hybrid since 2000), integrating cross-disciplinary projects for relevant learning. Her ongoing research is on exploring and developing learning environments in augmented reality.
Deborah presents webinars, and has been interviewed in webinars regarding her work with social media environments. She runs workshops on Hybridization, Gamification and social media tools & methodology. She has been invited to speak at conferences and forums, including She’s Geeky, ACTFL, FLA-NC, IALLT, Online Teaching Conference, RMMLA, and HICE. She was sponsored by the National Science Foundation to speak at the Radical Innovation Summit in Washington D.C. in 2013. She was interviewed by the World Academy of Art and Science on the future of Online and Higher Education.
Deborah also founded and authored (in 1999) the Spanish Grammar reference site, drlemon©®, and authored three distance education courses for UNC-CH. Prior to teaching, Deborah worked in defense industry in HR/PR and Systems Administration.
